The Holy Grail of heli-skiing surrounds Cordova from Prince William Sound to the Copper River. There is a seemingly endless sea of mountains to explore. With a plethora of wind protected terrain available, our guides are the best in the business at finding the highest quality and safest ski terrain available on any given fly day.
-
There are no roads or highways that run through the middle of our land. All of our clients fly from our lodge and back to our lodge via helicopter each day. We have multiple fuel caches in the field. You are never on a peak and told to ski to the road for a shuttle bus pick up. An average day of skiing or snowboarding consists of 20-40,000 feet of vertical per day. A full day usually consists of 6-11 runs.

The Orca Adventure Lodge in Cordova, Alaska is a breathtaking wilderness retreat nestled between the mountains and the ocean. The dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. Guests are treated to three well rounded meals per day. Several meals will include locally sourced seafood from our very own Cordovan fishery. The lodge's talented chefs skillfully prepare each meal, providing a culinary journey that perfectly complements the breathtaking Alaskan landscape.

4 heli-flight hours, per person. An average day is around 1.34 heli-hours (6-11 runs). 4 heli-hours generally is equivalent to 2-4 full days of flying. Why Trip Insurance?
The weather in Alaska is what makes this place so special. Given the fact that the vast majority of our terrain is located above tree line, we are limited on the days we can access the mountains via helicopter. On these days there are endless Activities to entertain you while waiting for the storm to pass.
Luckily, there are many Trip Insurance options out there to help protect not only you in the case of an injury, but many also cover inclement weather related issues. Ie. not being able to fly on a bad weather day. If you have any remaining heli time, many insurance policies will cover the cost of those unused hours. Please ask us when booking what policies we recommend. There are also many credit cards that have built in trip insurance so be sure to do your homework prior to paying for your trip with us.
We cannot stress enough how important buying trip insurance can be as soon as you book your trip with us. If you get injured between the time your trip is booked and the start of your adventure with us, most insurance policies will cover the entire cost of the trip. If you get injured during your trip with us, they will also cover the cost of your trip.
