JASON BILEK
HELI-SKI GUIDE
(Chef, mechanic, Blazeking technician, shuttle driver, hot fueler, ski patrol @ Eyak, bar assistant, server, dispatch, stoke Broker, shoveler, Cordova tour guide)
With over 30 years on a snowboard and 15 of those spent guiding clients to the best days of their lives, PNH guide Jason Bilek is an Alaska legend. Born in Chicago, Jason started with us in 2001 as a cook in the NEFCO. He eventually became a tail guide, and then pushed himself to gain the high levels of education and training required to become a Heli-Ski US Level 3 mechanized ski guide in 2013. Clients come back year after year to ski and board with Bilek. He knows the Zone like few others, and can always sniff out the goods. Back home, Jason is an avalanche forecaster with the Sierra Avalanche Center in South Lake Tahoe, and an avid backcountry traveller. He is an all around athlete; you can find him skateboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing, snow skating, camping, hiking, and exploring in the summer time. Bilek is also a talented fabricator, who loves to build and work with his hands. He still keeps his culinary skills sharp though, and makes a mean rack of ribs.
