Everyone has
just returned from a really good
day of riding and number of runs
under their belt. Weather
forecast is calling for
continued blue skies. We are
looking for some of that snow
that is falling in the lower 48.
AK needs it. We have had clear
blue skies now for 3 weeks and
the wind has been howling the
past 5 days or so. That's the
honest report. Everyone is
having a great time and most are
now headed in to see our massage
therapist, Donna. Stay tuned...
Tomorrow should be more of the
same...

WE ARE OPEN!
Hello to everyone. We are back
in Cordova and fired up to be
home! There is a lot of
snow here at the PNH base as you
can see from the photos. It
feels like the first year, 10
years ago when we had 6 feet on
the ground here at base...That's
the good report. Now for the
honest report....The winds have
been howling the past 3 days and
there is not as much snow in the
mountains as there is here at
base. The huge snowfalls that
everyone has been claiming is
true for all the coastal parts
of Alaska. The higher and deeper
we go, the less there is. We
have found that to be wide
spread throughout the Chugach as
we have been in our new zone PNH
2, Girdwood, Valdez and now here
in Cordova. With all of the
reports coming out of Alaska
with huge snowfalls, I was
expecting the zone to be buried.
Although not buried, it looks
like it always has
looked...PERFECT! We just need a
re-set.
We have been in the zone now the
last 2 days flying and riding in
all of our ski areas hunting for
good snow that has not been wind
effected. It is out there and we
are lapping it up. The current
weather forecast shows a slight
re-set coming maybe mid week,
but overall blue bird is the
call for the week. The guests
are fired up!
I will try to be posting these
updates each and every day so
stay tuned. In the meantime,
enjoy the photos that were taken
today of Pontoon (The Holy
Grail), The Massif, Sphinx and a
few others. They all are ready!
Check out the lack of
Bergshrunds on the Massif...They
are gone...
