We have just rounded third base. What a great season we have had
so far. Currently in the midst of our final week. Not really certain what the
world is coming to. Conway is on a snowboard now, Lamborn and David Jade slayed
Sphinx and Cabanilla's snowboard crew rallied down Pontoon from the top. What a
week we just had. Make certain to check out the links below to some of our guest
postings on various web sites around. They speak for themselves. Thanks to
everyone from last week for making it so damn good! The Chugach doesn't get any
better! Currently we have a pretty good sized low (973 Mb) pressure system
sitting on us with additional lows spinning around the big one.. It could be the
call for the week. Everyone has had 1 day so far, so the pressure is off, but we
are hoping that they get another day toward weeks end. We will see. Snow line is
hovering around 2000'. We are figuring that we have received at least a foot of
new snow in the zone. Anyhow, check back for more photos...stay tuned...Quinner

The weather around here has been crazy! Its spring time in
Alaska for certain. Last weeks guests made 600 plus runs and know the new guests
are in a holding pattern waiting for the weather to clear this afternoon. High
pressure is the call starting today and we are looking for it to stretch into
mid week at least. The GFS, UMET and NAM models all show a weak high pressure
ridge moving in this afternoon. We are dealing with a small surface low, however
that is dissipating and the winds have finally switched to our favor from the
W,NW. That generally means improving conditions.
Current snow line is around 1500' or so. We are anticipating
12-18 inches of new in the zone from the past 2 days. Anyhow, everyone is
settling in now for week 8 and everyone looks to be flying possibly today.....we
will wait and see....Quinner

I have just returned from a weather / snow check flight into the
zone and found a lot of new snow. Current "guesstamation" is around 3-5 feet of
new above 3000'. It seems as though the snow line is hovering around 1500' or
so. It appears that we are going to be given a brief high pressure over the next
2 days starting later this evening and or over night. The troops are getting
weary so my fingers are crossed for them. Needless to say, we are anticipating
Big Wednesday! Stay tuned for more...skies are looking to clear this
afternoon...Quinner

Hello everyone! The snow is falling heavily above 2000'. We have
had over 3.5 inches of water fall from the sky in the past 72 hours here at
base. Needless to say we have received our reset button in the zone. We are
feeling like we have received around 3-5 feet of snow. The Indians are warming
up the drums and sharpening their arrows waiting for the cowboys to
come...Current Wx forecast is for wet weather to continue through Tuesday with
possible clearing beginning over night Tuesday. We could be setting up for "Big
Wednesday". Here are some photos from the past week. I think I just saw 2 cats
and a dog go flying past the window...Its coming down hard out there! Quinner

The grey is high and we are firing again this AM. With the last
24 hours off, the troops are rested and we sending all 12 groups into the zone
now. I am feeling like this is the last day of the big run for at least the next
48 hours as we have a pretty big reset button heading our way. Its full of
moisture and is setting up to be a classic Chugach pounder! The inbound groups
coming in this weekend better get ready as it's setting up to be all time!
Needless to say my fingers are crossed as many of our Squaw Valley friends are
inbound on Saturday. I hope you guys are bringing your extra set of legs...The
last two weeks PNH riders have put down over 4700 runs in the zone. Each group
is averaging 10 plus runs a day x 5 riders (that works into 50 runs per group as
you count each rider). We are firing on all cylinders now...check out the
photos...Quinner

The streak has ended...at least for the next 24 hours anyhow...A huge day again yesterday! Over 500 runs again and some of the biggest lines we
have seen in years put down!
The mighty Massif went down in flames as the boys had the green light to get it
done. 60 plus for 4000'. You really have know idea how big and steep that is
until your on it! It was great! Current conditions are showing a reset coming
but for now it is just sitting off the coast teasing us. The Chugach looks like
Squaw Valley at 10am on a big powder day! Tracks are everywhere! The troops are
all getting massages and the sauna is on fire now. Tomorrow looks like a fly
day, but we will wait and see. Monday night mayhem was going off in the kitchen
last night! Here are some good photos from the events yesterday. Enjoy...Quinner

Holy High Pressure! It continues...Another big day in the
Chugach yesterday with 525 runs put down from the 12 groups in the field. Today
is looking as though that number is going to be blown away...here are some great
photos from last nights weather check from 8,000 feet and my new Columbia
Titanium Canopy, courtesy of J Kelly, along with the Northern lights and of
course some great Chugach action...WX forecast is calling for a slight reset
coming in over the next 24 -36 hours but then clearing again. We are finally
into the classic pattern around here and the long days are upon us. Enjoy the
photos they are really good...Check back...Quinner

We are in the midst of a huge run now...day 8,9 or 10 I
forget...Know time to report now, but it is damn good in the zone right now.
Will try to get some photos up here shortly but for the time being...here's a
couple of our loyal guests ripping "Filthy Spines" 2 days ago, Jim Filtlow, Mark
Landau, Doug Dickey and our Chef Nate dog with Guide Christian Cabanilla. High
pressure is continuing for a few more days...The cowboys are weary...Maybe we
will get another 2500 runs this week...We will wait and see what the low does to
the south of us for now...Temps on the glacier are finally getting warm with
cold nights...We had a huge show of Northern Lights last night. Its not often I
go through the lodge waking everyone up...last night was worth it...will have
some photos for you tonight...It was sure good having BJ and Lisa here these
past couple weeks...thanks guys for your help!...Quinner
